Our Founder
I was fortunate to have a father who was an innovator with a natural entrepreneurial spirit. He started Destination 27 years ago when I was only 11 years old. I spent the first half of my life doing every job there was to do for our company, learning every in and out there was to learn. As the longest surviving accessory company under the same ownership we have definitely seen the ups and downs in the surf industry. As competitors have come and gone throughout the years we have stayed true to our roots and we continue to produce the highest quality surf accessories in the business. My family and I are extremely grateful for the opportunities, lifestyle and friendships that the surf industry has given us. We would like to wholeheartedly thank everyone for all the support we have received through thick and thin for almost 30 years!
A big THANKS for all people who have helped Destination Surf get where we are today. My parents John and Becky, my wife Katherine, and the rest of the Smith clan! Justin at AKA Surfboards for all the time and design, Bob Reif for all his guidance and wisdom, Mitch and the crew at Mitch's for all of their support from the beginning, Dave and the crew at Cinnamon Rainbows for supporting us on the other coast, Dave Craig for keeping me on the best boards on earth, Brandon Lillard for always having my back, Brian at FreeForm, Matt at CBS for all the ding repair, Bob and Paul at Hurley, Eric and Melanie at IRS surf, Boo at Futures, Burns, Bill Kerwin, Marc Angellio, Frank Russell, Bruce Chrisner for all the sales, Ricky and Reyna for all the years of service, Craig Beck at Sector Nine, Joe, Denise, Joel, Josh, and Meg Tudor, Nelson and Rafael at GB-BJJ, John at JT Diesel, Aram at Coastal Car Clinic, past, present & future Team Riders, JP & Moonlight Glassing for spreading the word, Cash and Morgaine for keeping the office safe. And a big thanks to the people that I might of forgotten.
Thank you everyone for everything....Aaron, Katherine and Magdalena Smith.
Remember....A traveling surfer is a happy surfer.
